30 Day Comment Period on Election Ordinance Change

The Georgetown Tribal Council is giving notice of a 30-day comment period on changes to the Election Ordinance. Comments can be submitted by email to info@georgetowntc.com or by mail to:

Under Section 6 Special Election, the text reads as:

The Council may call a special election upon giving at least a two week notice to Tribal voters, provided that the notice contains an explanation of what the election is about. Absentee ballots shall be provided with the notice of a special election.

The Council is proposing the following change:

The Council may call a special election upon giving at least two weeks notice to Tribal voters, provided that the notice contains an explanation of what the election is about. Absentee ballots shall be provided following the notice of a special election.
